• What to Do When You Have An Accident...

    The following 7 steps will enable you to be prepared when collecting information for filing a claim...


  •  1. Protect your auto and other property from further damage. If possible, pull your auto out of more harms way.
     2. Promptly call the police if: someone is injured, damage is extensive, your vehicle has been stolen, or if you need their assistance.
     3. Never admit liability or sign a statement unless authorized by your provider or Nelson & Associates.
     4. Complete as much information as possible while you are still at the accident scene. Make/Year/Type of Other Vehicle Involved, Plate No. & State, Driver's Name, Address, Phone No., Owner of Other Vheicle, Their Address & Phone No., Describe Damage (as well as, speed & direction of vehicles), Insurance Co., Policy No., Name/Address/Phone No. of any Witnesses or Occupants in either vehicle, Date/Time/Location of Accident and the time Police where called and arrived.
     5. Report the claim to your Agent as soon as possible. Failure to report the claim as soon as possible can result in an unconditional discharge of coverage under some Insurance Policies.
     6. If you are a commercial driver, notify your employer of the accident
     7. Always carry your Agent's name and telephone number as well as your Policy Number.
